Wendy Bucklew
Wendy Bucklew arrived on the music scene in Atlanta in 1988. Since then, she has performed in front of audiences across the U.S. Having recently returned to her native California, Bucklew hopes to reach a broader audience with the new songs and tour the album with her band to create live performances that rock and cradle its listeners. The live shows do the albums justice. Involved in all levels of her career, she is motivated and qualified for the next level, whatever that may be...
Wendy Bucklew has taken her performing and songwriting talents to a new level of maturity and excellence. The closest comparison would be Joni Mitchell meets Janis Joplin in the 90's. Even this is not so much an accurate description of Bucklew's style as it is of her lyrical talent and her ability to emote. Listening to her lyrics will give you an idea of the poet behind the performer. This is someone who lives and feels the words she belts and whispers.
To follow up her previous project, "Rage in the Ring" Bucklew's new 11 song recording, "Asleep in the Swing," is a fine example of a talent coming into her own. Wendy Bucklew's intricate guitar ability moves beyond simple chording and rhythm -- this is a woman who utilizes everything from leads, harmonics and percussion to push her point across.
